XCELLENET AND AURUM SOFTWARE FORGE INTEGRATION ALLIANCE; PARTNERSHIP PROVIDES A MORE ROBUST DATA...

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 17, 1995--XcelleNet(R), Inc. today announced it has formed an integration partnership with Aurum Software, Inc. under which the two companies will jointly provide sales force automation solutions to organizations with large remote and mobile field forces.

XcelleNet's

Remote Ware(R) is a suite of client/server communications and applications software tools used to automate time-sensitive delivery processes--such as order entry, inventory query or price list and catalog updates--for mobile and remote users. Aurum's Sales Trak application automates sophisticated field sales organizations with comprehensive tools for tracking, measuring, and managing the sales process.

XcelleNet's Integration Partners provide information technology integration services--including designing and implementing enterprise-wide, line-of-business application systems--based on Remote Ware. Under the partnership agreement, XcelleNet's RemoteWare Communications Management System (CMS) software will provide the data communications transport for Aurum's SalesTrak sales force automation application when large numbers of remote and mobile users are involved. In addition, Aurum is developing and marketing applications built with RemoteWare's Applications Management System (AMS), a suite of software development tools used to create forms, documents and reports for electronically presenting and managing remote enterprise information.

RemoteWare CMS software will complement Aurum's dbSync technology, which provides the base database synchronization capabilities inherent in SalesTrak. "Because RemoteWare provides the sophisticated data communications required when hundreds or thousands of mobile users exchange information with a central site, it makes an excellent complement to the database synchronization capabilities dbSync provides for smaller field forces using SalesTrak," noted Mary Coleman, Aurum's president.

The first application Aurum will deliver based on RemoteWare AMS is a marketing encyclopedia system based on RemoteWare's SUBSCRIBER and DOCUMENTS tools. Using it, mobile users will be able to request information such as market research, account information and other reports to be delivered to them electronically.

"Aurum's SalesTrak software is an excellent fit with RemoteWare because both are designed using open architectures that enable organizations to customize mobile computing solutions," said John Bacon, XcelleNet's president. "We are pleased to be working with Aurum to deliver sophisticated, yet easy to use, mobile applications to a broad range of industries."
