Facility Information Systems Inc. (FIS), the corporate-standard enterprise solution for real estate and facility management information, announced the rollout of a significantly enhanced version
Version 4.1i, which will be rolled out August 20th, is a major new product release and strengthens FIS' position as the technology leader for corporate real estate and facilities management software solutions.
"Version 4.1i delivers a production quality e-business environment for our clients who face an increasingly competitive knowledge-based business world," said Chuck Woznick, president and chairman of FIS. "Clients will especially appreciate the enhancements in capability, speed and secure process connections over the Web."
The new version of FIS/FM offers a number of significant upgrades and new features, including:
-- Full support of the latest platform technology products from Oracle, Autodesk and Bentley Systems -- Ad hoc "zones" for floor plans which connect any adjacent areas of a space, allowing for more logical tracking of similar areas, logical groupings or management designations within a building -- Dramatically increased speed in processing graphic data in query and reporting operations -- Expanded integration of real estate portfolio and transaction management functions with facility management - enabling true facilities optimization that manages physical assets and related cash flows -- Faster and fully secure Web access that meets the most stringent specifications, including the military's -- Fine-grained security, allowing multiple organizations to share a single instance of the software and database while fully protecting each as a separated entity - a major plus for cost-effective nationwide or hosted deployments -- Robust Web-based ad hoc reporting and data presentation tools, using data cube and "drag and drop" report generation techniques -- Numerous functions for greater effectiveness in portfolio analysis and cost comparison, including links to metropolitan statistical area data from the US Census Bureau
Spatial data zones allow FIS/FM users to group and label spaces used for common purposes, such as areas of a building covered by a special lease agreement, proximity to hazardous materials, group relocations, areas served by a specific heating and ventilating equipment or rooms with computers served by the same communications hub, etc.
