29 firms win Alliant awards.

Three former small disadvantaged businesses are among 29 large companies selected for GSA's $50 billion Alliant governmentwide acquisition contract.

GSA said 66 companies submitted proposals. Deputy Administrator David Bibb described the winners as "world-class providers."

In addition to most of the largest IT services companies, GSA awarded contracts to Mantech Advanced Systems International of Fairfax, VA; QSS Group of Lanham, MD; and RS Information Systems of McLean, VA.

GSA officials said the companion Alliant Small Business GWAC will be awarded by the end of the calendar year. It is the largest set-aside in history, worth up to $15 billion over 10 years. The agency has said as many as 60 companies will win places on the contract.
