I was shocked when I encountered the OLPC (one laptop per child) computer... My first question: if it has a swivel screen, camera, and wifi... why does mine cost so much more? Of course, they were not available to the public.

This year I discovered the Asus eee pc. I'm seriously considering one, as a browser companion to my blackberry when on the road.

I like the on-demand software idea and think you miss one important point: on-demand requires no packaging of any type. Absent the packaging there is nothing to ship which is another bonus. The EPA has some useful information on their site as well. EPA ...
