HP To Acquire Bluestone...

Hewlett-Packard is acquiring Blue-stone Software in a stock deal to boost its Internet software portfolio. The deal is valued at nearly a half-billion dollars based on HP's closing price on Tuesday.

Bluestone, headquartered in Philadelphia, provides J2EE and XML application servers and tools for B2B, B2C and mobile Internet transactions. When the deal closes, Bluestone will become a wholly owned HP subsidiary.
