Jan Ozer's April 2004 column on MPEG-4 [THE MORNING PICTURE, "MPEG-4 is Dead," p. 48] offers several interesting contradictions, even within itself. It's clear that Windows Media 9 has advantages in comparison to MPEG-4. But there are also self-evident similarities and disadvantages.
