WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 27, 2000
Nation's largest leisure travel organizations select ContentWare
to manage all content and information for the
enterprise--including new Web sites
Openpages, Inc., a leading provider of content management software solutions for e-business, today announced that Lib/Go Travel, the services organization of Liberty Travel and GoGo Worldwide Vacations--the nation's largest privately held leisure travel organizations--has chosen Openpages ContentWare(TM) product suite for end-to-end content management. Lib/Go will use ContentWare for managing content on the Web, including the new libertytravel.com and gogowwv.com Web sites, and all print content, including brochures and advertisements for more than 200 Liberty Travel retail stores and 88 nationwide GoGo Worldwide Vacations wholesale offices. Lib/Go selected ContentWare over numerous competitive content management software packages and has already begun to implement ContentWare into its content creation workflow. The company intends to utilize it live on the Internet and corporate intranet sites by spring 2001.
ContentWare is Openpages' award-winning product suite designed to help B2B, B2B exchanges, e-retail/catalog and Web publishing organizations to more effectively create, manage and deploy timely, accurate and compelling content to any channel including Web, print or wireless media. ContentWare provides the highest level of integration with popular desktop design applications and enables organizations to manage content developed by thousands of writers and designers, ensuring that content is distributed in an accurate and timely manner.
ContentWare creates a common repository for Lib/Go's content, making it entirely reusable for deployment throughout the enterprise and beyond, to the company's B2B and B2C Web sites and in a wide array of print publications, including brochures, direct mailing pamphlets and newspaper advertisements. Previously, Lib/Go had no automated means for content management. Instead, the company was archiving information via CDRom and other storage media--or in hardcopy form. Now, with ContentWare, Lib/Go's team of more than 25 copywriters and artists can continue to work in their native applications-- everything from Microsoft Word, Quark and Adobe Illustrator to Photoshop and Macromedia DreamWeaver--to create descriptive copy, logos, artwork and other content for travel packages, airlines, cruises and thousands of individual hotel properties.
"The goal for our upcoming two Web sites is to provide our customers with an industry-leading travel resource, sites that deliver instant access to a wider array of services and content right at their fingertips. We realized to do this we needed to create a workflow that would allow us to leverage our Web and print content and deploy it to the Web in real-time," said Andre Haroche, managing director, electronic commerce for Liberty Travel and GoGo Worldwide Vacations. "We then searched the industry, and determined that ContentWare was the only solution available that could meet our needs, while allowing us to use a wide range of creation tools to an equally wide range of deployments. Now, our content developers can continue to use their existing desktop applications to deploy content to the ContentWare database. We instantly realized this was going to reduce training costs and while virtually leveling the learning curve our content creators and approvers would face."
"Liberty Travel is a highly illustrative example of the full business benefits of ContentWare's end-to-end content management capabilities," said Warren Huff, president and CEO of Openpages, Inc. "As brick-and-mortar companies expand their Internet play, content management becomes an even more critical and more complicated task-- especially for a content-intensive service industry such as travel. Because ContentWare is the only end-to-end solution that can manage content from creation to deployment in any medium, Openpages is well-positioned to help real world retailers like Liberty Travel take their business to the Internet."
