ACTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 2000

Yantra Corporation (www.yantra.com), a leading provider of eBusiness solutions for high volume transaction management, today announced its European initiative with the opening of its European headquarters in Maidenhead, U.K. In conjunction with the new office, Yantra also announced the hiring of former Oracle executive David Stevenson, who as the Senior Vice President of European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) operations, will head up Yantra's newest global efforts. The European office represents Yantra's first expansion into the region, and will enable the company to effectively deliver and support its PureEcommerce software suite to the leading players in the rapidly expanding European e-commerce market, which according to Forrester Research will grow to $1.5 trillion by 2004.

"The European e-business market is enjoying tremendous growth as Global 2000 companies look to further expand their market opportunities via the internet," said John Kiley, president and COO of Yantra. "We firmly believe that David's experience with e-commerce and enterprise based solutions, and the significant exposure he had to many of the key players in the space, will prove invaluable to Yantra and our customers as we aggressively expand into the European market."

Stevenson, who spent the last six years at Oracle, most recently served as the company's Vice President of Sales, in charge of commercial industries including retail, manufacturing, transportation and distribution. Stevenson also served on the management board for Oracle, U.K. In his new role as Yantra's Senior Vice President of EMEA operations, he will help solidify key partnerships and deliver Yantra's PureEcommerce solutions to area global 2000 companies.

"Yantra's leading edge products, seasoned leadership and its proven track record have established us as a major player in the B2B e-commerce solutions space," said Stevenson. "As more and more European companies look to connect their extended supply chains (extraprises) via the Web, Yantra is in perfect position to gain market share and do so quickly."

To strengthen its position, Yantra has already established global partnerships with leading enterprise system integrators such as CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation) and Sapient Corporation as well as other e-commerce application and development providers. Along with its partnerships, Yantra will continue to ensure a rapid implementation time of 90 days and 24 hour, seven day a week support and service to ensure smooth operations during the installation process and beyond.
