Strategic alliance to deliver end-to-end Web
analytic application for measuring e-commerce
performance and reducing supply chain costs
Sagent Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: SGNT),
Through its analytic application for e-commerce, Sagent Solution organizes, tracks and analyzes e-commerce transaction information captured through Commerce One BuySite(TM), which automates the entire supply chain from requisition through order and payment for business-to-business transactions. Sagent Solution then delivers this data to key buyers via the Web, enabling them to make better business decisions for global e-commerce trading.
The BuySite(TM) Business Intelligence Kit will allow buyers to track key metrics, such as enterprise spending habits for specific commodities, sales activity with each supplier, on-contract vs. off-contract spending, and total purchasing patterns of their e-commerce initiatives.
"We chose Sagent because we needed a scalable, secure solution that could effectively manage the high volume of data derived from the Commerce One solution and turn it into valuable information for the buyer," said Chuck Donchess, executive vice president and chief strategy officer, Commerce One. "We believe that the Sagent Solution was an ideal choice for offering Web-enabled reporting to multiple buyers around the globe through a single-source, analytic application for our e-procurement system."
Sagent delivers an open, scalable solution that addresses the complete life cycle for e-business intelligence, including development, production and ongoing management of a company's information assets. The Sagent Solution allows businesses to collect and analyze customer and operational data from existing systems and to incorporate the most current geographic, business-to-business and demographic information from third-party content providers in real time. This information is then made available over the Web via a secure connection to create precise one-to-one marketing campaigns, identify profitable sales opportunities, and improve operational efficiencies.
"Sagent is excited to deliver to Commerce One an analytic application that enables e-commerce buyers to better evaluate the performance of their supply chain," said Ken Gardner, president and CEO, Sagent Technology. "Shipping this application is a significant milestone in extending the breadth of Sagent's e-business analytic application offerings. We are very pleased to have met our previously announced product delivery objectives."
