But imagine seeing Mr. Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation show up in one. OK, that's not going to happen of course, but no doubt some clever fan with video editing skills will make a pretty decent knock off.
That's because Google Android, which has thus far been an operating system for mobile handsets, could be making its way to other devices. This could include netbooks, as well as digital photo frames, e-book readers and even GPS units. Basically anything that is small and doesn't need to use the more traditional Windows architecture.
Wired is reporting that this week two Japanese companies, Macnica and Fujitsu Software Technologies showed prototypes products that ran Android, including a digital photo frame. That seems like a strange use of the OS, but even devices as simple as photo frames need some sort of operating system.
The bigger buzz online is that Dell and Asus could each be working on netbooks that run on Android. Could this be the beginning of a full-blown Android invasion? Time will tell.
New iPhone Specs?
Wired also offered a laundry list of features for the new iPhone. The news magazine picked up these rumors from iPhone fan blog Apple iPhone Apps, so take this with a grain of a salt. But if true, this new phone could once again get the iPhone fanatics to stand in line.

Tired of your iPhone battery giving out at the wrong moment? And worse, since the battery can't be replaced, once you've worn it out, the phone will likely need to be replaced. So keeping the phone constantly charged isn't exactly the answer either. But my friends over at [OC]ModShop have posted some excellent tips to help you improve the battery life for your handset.
They offer some good advice, such as lowering the brightness, reducing the frequency in which e-mail is checked and most importantly killing the Bluetooth functionality except when you're actually using a compatible headset. Solid advice all around.
