Microsoft issues five 'critical' security patches.

Five 'critical' security patches have been issued by software company Microsoft Corp to fix flaws in the company's software which it said could enable attackers to gain control of a user's computer.

According to Microsoft,

four of the 'critical' patches fix holes in its Windows operating system, which runs on 90% of the world's computers, while the remaining patch is intended for its XML Core Services package.

The company has also issued another security update for Windows, which it has rated as 'important'.

The patches have been issued as part of Microsoft's monthly security bulletin and can also be downloaded at http://www.microsoft.com/security.
