Verizon introduces FiOS Internet services to New York's Queens and the Bronx.

The Verizon FiOS suite of Internet services has been introduced to parts of Queens and the Bronx in New York by Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ), a company providing broadband and other wireline and wireless communication

FiOS Internet Service is now available to an increasing number of small businesses and residents in parts of the Queens communities of Long Island City, New Hyde Park, Rosedale, Laurelton, Bayside, Floral Park, Springfield Gardens and the Rockaways.

In addition FiOS Internet is available in the Bronx in parts of Wakefield and Williamsbridge and is also available in other communities in New York, such as various Long Island and Staten Island neighbourhoods.

Verizon unveiled new Internet connection speeds for small business and consumers in New York in July, offering several tiers of service with download speeds of up to 10Mb/s, 20Mb/s and 50Mb/s and upload speeds of up to 10Mb/s.

Verizon offers the FiOS Internet Service to consumers from USD39.95 per month or USD29.95 per month with a one-year agreement, to USD109.95 per month, or USD89.95 per month with a one-year commitment, depending on the package selected.

Small business owners pay from USD59.95 per month (dynamic IP address) or USD99.95 per month (up to five static IP addresses), to USD349.95 per month (dynamic IP) or USD389.95 per month (up to five static IP addresses).
