Serials Solutions joins NISO

The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) has announced that a new member, Serials Solutions, has been added to its voting roster. Serials Solutions is dedicated to improving the visibility of full-text electronic-format journals by providing client institutions of all types and sizes

with comprehensive reports that show all the full-text electronic journals available at their institutions. According to the announcement, the organization partners with a variety of aggregators to provide visibility for journals within collections, making these aggregated databases increasingly useful to library patrons.

Pat Harris, NISO's executive director, said: "Internet development has spurred tremendous growth in the information intermediary arena. We are pleased to have Serials Solutions, a new kind of information service vendor, join NISO and help us shape standards that will be useful to all players in the information industry."
