SAN-Attachment Enables Customers to Share Infrastructure
Between Major Operating Platforms
Amdahl Corp. today announced that the Platinum/400 RAID storage subsystem attaches to open systems UNIX(R) and Windows NT(R) platforms, via a storage area network (SAN) environment, as well as to the System/390 platform.
Platinum/400 will connect to Sun(TM) Solaris(TM), HP-UX, and IBM AIX to allow enterprises to share the same storage platform for a diversity of uses and to build a single connecting infrastructure. Customers achieve efficient information management, improved data access, and lower cost of ownership.
Amdahl planning and implementation services provide a total solution for customers implementing a SAN. Services identify and address deployment approaches, availability requirements, and growth needs for optimal SAN architectures.
