Among some of the more popular Web authoring tools, reputations have been earned, based on the markets they're aimed at. At the top end sits Macromedia's Dreamweaver, designed for the serious Web developer. For individuals with little experience, but tasked with developing a Web site for their department head, NetObjects Fusion is the tool of choice. And Microsoft's FrontPage claims to straddle the two markets. But given the complexity of its Web site, at least one Ontario government department has found all Web tools inadequate for at least some of its design needs.
