France Telecom has chosen Kenan Systems Corp.'s UNIX-based Arbor/BP billing and customer care software to support service offerings for its largest commercial customers. FT is the largest telecom provider in France and one of the largest in the world. Arbor/BP lets FT provide streamlined, unified billing to its 25,000 largest business customers, which collectively generate over 40 million calls per day. With the software, FT can customize discounts and cross-promotional packages to individual customers. In recent benchmark tests conducted by France Telecom, Kenan says Arbor/BP handled 45 million call detail records (CDRs) per day from more than 300,000 business accounts, the equivalent of 900 million CDRs per month. Other Kenan Systems customers include AT&T, British Telecom, GTE, Jones Intercable, Optus Communications, Siris, WorldCom/MFS and Verio.
