Citing Informix Software Inc.'s expertise in both online
The multi-milliondollar contract gives Informix, the world's number two database vendor, a major win in the highly competitive telecom market.
MCI plans to use the full range of Informix software and services, including its Dynamic Scalable Architecture database products, INFORMIX-Universal Server object-relational database, New Era software development tools, consulting services and support services, in future technology deployments.
As part of the deal, Informix will build an on-site competency center at MCI to help tune and test applications that will run with the Informix database software.
Informix is based in Menlo Park, Calif.
