BNS enhances customer experience with Motive Home Device Manager
AUSTIN, Texas -- Motive, Inc., a provider of service management software for broadband and mobile data services, has announced that BNS Data Logistics, a distributor of hardware and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) based
Since it became available in 2005, 18 service providers worldwide, including BNS, have selected Motive HDM to manage their next-generation broadband services. BNS will now offer HDM as part of its package for ISPs, making the technology available to a wider range of ISPs throughout Europe.
Headquartered in De Meern, the Netherlands, BNS Data Logistics is one of Europe's largest providers of complete xDSL solutions to ISPs, offering networking equipment from vendors including Alcatel-Lucent, Thomson and Siemens. The firm's BNS Services division was set up to fulfil the company's aim to move beyond providing tailor-made product bundles, to a managed service-based approach, that enables BNS to add ongoing value through, among other things, auto-configuration and firmware upgrades for ADSL routers.
Through BNS Services, the organisation is offering the Motive HDM solution to reduce CPE deployment and replacement costs, decrease the number of 'No Defect Found' CPE returns and significantly limit early life help desk calls - all of which are essential for service providers rolling out next-generation services. Through the use of outsourced auto-provisioning, truck rolls will be reduced and the customer will enjoy greater flexibility and ease of installation. In addition, Motive has provided a hosted solution--essential for BNS as the company has no data centre of its own and provided extensive staff training.
"We needed a solution that would enable us to make the transition from wholesale and logistics, to a reliable provider of managed services," explained Hermen van der Plaats, senior account manager at BNS Data Logistics. "We needed a solution that would enable us to offer our customers a differentiated and unique service, as quickly as possible and with the least upheaval. BNS chose Motive because of its position as market leader for broadband management software, and its commitment to making BNS successful through training and professional services."
Jan Strating, BNS' chief executive officer, continues, "Motive fits perfectly in the strategy of BNS as a one-stop shop partner for ISPs. We will be the only true independent partner for ISPs in any way they can imagine".
"This is a new distribution model for Motive, but we're very excited about the prospect of being able to deliver our management solutions to a greater range of ISPs of all sizes," said Bruno Teuber, VP of Sales, EMEA, APAC and worldwide channels at Motive. "We're keen to help BNS develop the services side of its business as much as possible, and are looking forward to enabling the company to provide an even greater range of value added services from remote diagnostics to mobile device management in the future."
