Sherpa Corp. of San Jose, Calif., a leading producer of product information management (PIM) software, says it has just installed a 2500-user PIM system at GEC/Plessey Telecommunications of Britain. Sherpa says the new system creates a common engineering environment within GPT that is "expected to reduce time-to-market for new products significantly." GPT is Britain's largest telecommunications supplier and the new system is expected to be used by more than 4,000 engineers to manage millions of items over the next several years.
