Windows 3.0 sales expected to pass billion dollar threshold in 1992.

Microsoft Corp. says it expects sales of its new Windows 3.0 system to rise by 150 percent to 3.8 million units in 1991. Microsoft says a study by the International Data Corp. research organization also forecasts an additional 100 percent increase to 7.7 million units in 1992. Windows 3.0

retails for $149 and applications based on Windows are usually priced in the $400 to $500 range.
