NORCROSS, Ga. - eShare Communications is set for a national roll out of a new Web- and voice-based customer service platform on June 19 in an attempt to claim its share of a market estimated to be worth $4.3 billion.

With eShares's new platform, called Universal Agent, businesses can have their

customers contact them on the Web through chat room technology, by e-mail or by phone and each application would "seamlessly" share the data, according to company President and Vice Chairman James Tito.

"This is the result of about eight or nine months work, since eShare merged with Melita," Tito said.

He added that he expects to announce severall major contracts in the coming weeks regarding the new platform.

"What's happening is that as e-commerce is becoming more and more popular, many of these huge corporations need to supply this type of support," Tito said.

"They need to integrage their phone technology with Internet technology."

Melita International, a provider of customer service technology to traditional outbound call centers, acquired eShare in September, for $80 million.

Tito added that despite eShare's acquisition, it is still committed to Long Island.

The company is moving from Commack to Hauppauge, quadrupling its space obligation to 40,000 square foot.

The company also plans to at least double its 1ocal staff, which currently numbers 75 employees.
