SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 31, 1994--MacUser, one of the leading monthly magazines for buyers of Macintosh computers and products, has selected Dayna Communications' DaynaLINK ARA Server 1.1 as a 1994 Editors' Choice Award finalist for Best New Connectivity Product.

The "Eddy" Award recognizes the best Macintosh hardware and software products released throughout the year. DaynaLINK was selected as a finalist based on its technological innovation, quality, performance, user friendliness and value to Macintosh users.

DaynaLINK for ARA is a modular and expandable mobile access server that provides access to local area network services for remote AppleTalk clients through the innovative user of PCMCIA data/FAX modems. DaynaLINK for ARA supports up to eight high-speed PCMCIA Type II data/FAX modems and can recognize and automatically configure industry-standard PCMCIA modems by most major manufacturers without any user intervention, including Dayna's own CommuniCARD, a 14.4 data/fax modem.

The DaynaLINK software console allows network managers to define user name lists, dial-back protection, zone access for each user, and password protection for the server. Dayna's SecuriKey software lets network managers set up access privileges and security by assigning users a set of keys; each key determines the time calls can be made, the duration of the connection, and the zones to which users can have access.

DaynaLINK, along with other finalists, will be honored at a gala black-tie ceremony on Jan. 3, 1995, in San Francisco. The 1994

Editors' Choice Awards will be presented to products in 36 categories at the event; special awards will honor the Hardware and Software Products of the Year as well as recognize the Breakthrough Technology of the Year. "This year, as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Eddy Awards, it's clear that the 1994 finalists represent the best products of the year and set the stage for product innovation in the future," noted MacUser Editor-in-Chief Maggie Cannon.
