InfoExpress Extends Enterprise Security to the Increasing Number of
Home Users Behind DSL and Cable "Always On" Connections
InfoExpress, a leader in secure extranet and remote
Since enterprise personal firewalls are administrator-driven, network administrators require a system that can easily and effectively implement their organization's security policies without user intervention. To address these concerns, CyberArmor Suite features:
-- Standard pre-configured "templates" for client configuration;
-- Environmentally Sensitive Policies (ESP) that adjust depending on whether the user is on the Internet, using the VPN, on the corporate LAN, etc.;
-- Enterprise interoperability with VPNs, servers, and enterprise databases; and
-- Remote management, auditing, reporting, and updates.
"Security and network administrators are very aware of the threat they suddenly face when remote employees use the Internet to reach the corporation, especially using home PCs with high speed Internet access," said InfoExpress president and chief executive officer Stacey Lum. "CyberArmor Suite guards the user's PC and prevents it from serving as a gateway to the corporate network through a VPN or direct dial-in connection, and enforces the corporate security policy at all times. The suite puts control in the hands of the administrators, enabling them to configure, monitor, audit, and respond instantly to intrusion attempts on the user's PC."
"The emergence of remote employees using the Internet while accessing corporate resources has sparked serious security concerns among corporate IT managers. Managing security policies must take into account the idea of protecting the back door - preventing remote users from being the unwitting victims/accomplices in corporate attacks," said Barb Goldworm, director of Enterprise Management Associates. "CyberArmor can help IT managers protect corporate assets by extending an organization's security perimeter to remote users, protecting against potential intruders probing and penetrating remote PCs."
Enhancements to CyberArmor Suite 1.1, the next generation of the company's CyberArmor software, include advanced environmentally sensitive policies (ESP), new CyberConsole software for remote viewing of system configurations, alarms, status notifications, support for VPNs such as Microsoft's(R) PPTP, and integration with third-party databases.
CyberArmor Suite 1.1 is comprised of four components:
-- CyberArmor - pre-configured, auto-updated personal firewall client software that notifies users and CyberServer of attacks;
-- Policy Manager - creates and manages ESP policies, run-time settings, and automatic updates;
-- CyberServer - logs user events and threats into a database; and
-- CyberConsole - enables viewing remote user systems and managing incidents through the database.
CyberArmor Suite 1.1 begins shipping today. CyberServer is priced at $4,995 per server and runs on Windows NT(R). CyberConsole is priced at $295 per seat, and the client software is $49 per seat. Both run on all popular Windows(R) platforms. The company offers services that assist with the integration of CyberArmor Suite and third-party VPNs. CyberArmor Suite is also a feature of the company's FireWalker VPN Suite.
