A team led by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego (SSC San Diego) to provide engineering services to its Communication Network Fleet Engineering Systems Division; the Submarine Command,
Potentially valued at more than $174 million, including options, this indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, cost plus fixed fee contract will be performed over a period of one year, with four one-year option periods.
Services to be provided by the SAIC team will include program management, engineering, technical support, integrated logistics support, fabrication services, and non-integrated installation support for afloat and ashore Navy C4I systems. Support across these areas will be provided for legacy systems, as well as new technologies, and spans the full spectrum of Navy C4I. Representative systems and technologies include RF voice and data communications, tactical data links, network design and management, interior communications, and Internet application development and support.
"This contract will give SAIC the opportunity to help the U.S. Navy deploy and operate the next generation of data and voice communications networks," said Bryan Bebb, SAIC group senior vice president. "Making these networks secure, reliable, and easy to maintain and use is crucial to the Fleet's mission.

SAIC's winning team is comprised of four large businesses and 12 small businesses. They include AMSEC, located in Virginia Beach, Va.; Anteon, located in San Diego, Calif.; Digital Wizards, located in San Diego, Calif.; Fuentez, located in Charleston, S.C.; GSC, located in San Diego, Calif.; King Technologies, located in San Diego, Calif.; MILCOM, located at Virginia Beach, Va.; PSI, located in San Diego, Calif.; SEIDCON, located in Oceanside, Calif.; Systems Integration Technologies, located in San Diego, Calif.; TDS, located in Marlton, N.J.; TRANDES, located in San Diego, Calif.; TITAN including ACS-SD and Eldyne Divisions, located in San Diego, Calif.; TriStar Engineering, located in Crane, Ind.; Verity Technologies, located in San Diego, Calif.; and Wheat Communications International, located in Reston, Va.
