Xs4All to sue Ab Fab over alleged spam.

EUROPEMEDIA-(C)2002 Van Dusseldorp & Partners - http://www.vandusseldorp.com/

Dutch Internet service provider Xs4All is expected to sue Ab Fab Interactive Media Group for sending unsolicited e-mail (spam) to Xs4Alls subscribers.

The ISP claims Ab Fabs marketing practices

are overloading its mail servers, bothering its subscribers and tarnishing its image.

In a statement published in Dutch daily newspaper Volkskrant, Ab Fab called Xs4Alls actions an outright crusade against all forms of e-mail marketing, claiming it has followed normal practices and its campaigns have complied with all relevant rules and regulations.

According to Xs4All, Dutch financial daily NRC Handelsblad and insurer Amev were among Ab Fabs clients. Both have since apologised for the problems caused and promised to refrain from using such marketing services in the future. ((Distributed via M2 Communications Ltd - http://www.m2.com))
