The dot.com bust and recession help CUs recruit information technology professionals.
There seems to be a hint of a silver lining peeking through the gray cloud of the economic recession. Credit unions are now finding the process of hiring some levels of information technology employees much easier than it's been in nearly a decade.
The current financial downturn with its resulting plethora of layoffs means many IT employees, once lured to the dot.com world by promises of stock options, cutting-edge work and laissez-faire workplaces, are now interested in exchanging those benefits for some stability. And many of them are viewing the member service philosophy of a credit union as an attractive benefit.
MEMBERS DRIVE TECHNOLOGY
Finding good employees with the requisite skill sets can be a formidable task. The challenge rises when seeking employees in the information technology field.
