Severud's 75th anniversary.

Severed Associates Consulting Engineers PC., a prominent NYC based engineering consulting firm, is celebrating its 75th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, Severud Associates will hold a celebratory event for hundreds of colleagues and clients.

"Our 75th anniversary is a milestone

that gives us the important opportunity to acknowledge and thank the many colleagues and clients who have made our long tenure possible," said John Cryan, managing principal of Severed Associates. "It also provides us with a solid platform from which the firm can embark on the next 75 years of continued innovative engineering."

Severud Associates, primarily located in New York City, also has offices in London and Paris. It has provided structural and civil engineering services for more than 11,000 projects since its founding in 1928.

Since its inception the firm has been noted for design excellence through innovation. Severud Associates provided the engineering for the Raleigh Livestock Judging Pavilion, the first cable-supported roof structure in the world, and Madison Square Garden, the only cable-supported roof structure in New York City, also known as the greatest arena in the world. The firm also provided the engineering for the tensile membrane roof structure for the main terminal of the Denver International Airport.

Severud's designs can be found on the campuses of Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Boston College, M.I.T., The University of Chicago, Columbia University, New York University, The University of Vermont, Princeton University, The University of Pennsylvania, Penn State, Lehigh University, Fordham University and numerous other universities and colleges throughout the country.

Recently completed or soon to be completed airport terminals include the US Airway Terminal at Philadelphia Airport and The American Airline Terminal at JFK International Airport.

"We have been privileged to have been structural engineers for many of the significant and recognizable projects of the 20th Century" said Cryan, "and we have been fortunate to have been associated with some of the century's most talented and important architects and developers. The firm looks forward to even more involvement during the 21st century."
