Definitions for: Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation (TSEC)
Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation (TSEC)

founded in 1961 and located in Taipei. The Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Stock Index is the oldest and most widely quoted of all TSEC indices, and is comparable to the S&P 500 index in terms of its construction. In August 1985, the exchange's open trading floor was gradually replaced by a computeraided trading system (CATS), which was eventually upgraded to a fully automated securities trading (FAST) system in 1993. The centralized market trading session is 9 A.M.-1:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. (Orders can be entered from 8:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M.) The offhour trading session is 2-2:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. www.tse.com.tw/en.
