As I sat up in he wee hours of the morning feeding the baby, I came across a commercial for a website called Education Connection, which touts itself as the guidance counselor for higher education. If you are seeking to change careers, if you have never been to college and want to pick up a few classes or if you are interested in taking some classes to obtain a master’s degree you might want to check out this site.
Education Connection is broken down into several categories. First, if you are unsure of what you might want to do they offer a self-assessment quiz. Okay, I’m a fool for quizzes: It’s one of the first thing I do when I open up a magazine, and I love those books that offer different personality tests and then go on to tell me how wonderful, creative and yet moody I can be. So this morning I took the self-assessment quiz and I found out that I am an ENFP.
No, this is not some newfound curse word, nor is it a diagnosis for some obscure psychological profile, but this means that I am an extravert, that I’m intuitive, that I am a feeler and a perceiver. My best career choices include a PR person, a psychologist, a marriage and family therapist and, low and behold, a marketing manager, which is interesting considering that I own a marketing company. I was happy to find I had chosen the right career! By clicking on the occupation itself you can find out information regarding the annual salary, the job details, and the average job openings, perfect for those still considering several different careers. You can also locate colleges in your area that offer these programs, use this site to search careers and occupations, find out what other students thought about the use of education connection and locate grant and financial information.
The use of the site is free, so I’d suggest if you are interested in looking at different career opportunities and coursework in your area or online, stop and take a look. If nothing else, you’ll find out if you are an ENFP like me!
Happy Wednesday, moms!
