Daycares Use a Digital Camera to Brighten Working Parents' Days

An article in Working Mother magazine caught my eye the other day. One company that offers on site daycare to employees’ children utilizes a digital camera and the computer to email the parents pictures of their children throughout the day. Not only are parents able to visit their children in person, but they can see them on the computer screen from time to time.

How great is that? I can imagine no greater perk for a working mother who has to drop off her kids at daycare each morning and leave them behind than to pop on to check her email and find her baby smiling back at her from the computer screen.

This got me to wondering: Why can’t all daycares do this? I bet parents who drop their children off at a different location for daycare would absolutely love it if their daycare centers could send out a photo from time to time. Wouldn’t have to be everyday, but a few times a month? Parents who do not have access to on site daycare might find this a huge ray of sunshine during the day, as they aren’t able to drop by and see their children during work hours.

Just a thought for those of you who read this blog and own a daycare center.  The cost would be minimal and the reward? Priceless for our working mothers and fathers.

Have a great workweek, moms!

My doggie day care that I occasionally go to has streaming video. Log into their website and see your dog being chased around the yard. I assumed they had that for human day care as well.
