Hats Off to These Companies

Hats off to these companies for promoting women in business.

More

Catalyst is a research and advisory organization that works to support and promote women in business. This year Catalyst presented awards to The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc; PepsiCo Inc; PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC; and Scotiabank for the work that they do advancing women in business.  According to Catalyst, women are still highly underrepresented in roles of both senior leadership and on the boards of the Fortune 500 companies. But these companies promoted and worked hard to exemplify what Catalyst hopes to see in the future: the advancement of women to the level of senior management in the business world.

Goldman Sach’s Senior Women’s Initiative worked to double the number of women partners and increase the number of women managing directors. PepsiCo’s Women of Color Multicultural Alliance increased the representation of women of color in the senior management/director level. PwC increased women representation at the partner level by 30 percent and all staff had a 1/3-reduction rate in turnover while Scotiabank increased the number of women at the senior level within the Bank.

Hats off to these companies for promoting women in business.

That’s what a recent survey showed. But what does it really mean for women in business?
