International Women's Day is next week, and we are celebrating the holiday with a slate of three informational webinars for women in business. Hope you can join us!WorldWIT, the online network for women that I launched in 1999, has a special fondness for International Women's Day in March. This holiday, which dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, celebrates women's economic, political and social equality (even if we don't quite have those things yet). This year, WorldWIT is celebrating IWD with a three-part webinar series for women in business.
The first webinar, taking place on Tuesday, March 6th, at 2 pm EST, focuses on women in corporate America. It's called "A View From Above: Success in a Corporate Setting," and it's free: all are welcome. Go to www.readytalk.com/iwd to sign up for this tremendous hour of learning! Elizabeth Cornish, COO of Omnicom Adversiting; Robin Kane, Director of HR for WhiteWave Foods; and Caroline Gundeck, Chief Diversity Officer for Morgan Stanley, will be our panelists.
On Thursday, March 8, at 4 pm EST, we'll be focusing on entrepreneurial women with a webinar called "Breaking the Bonds: the Freedom of Entrepreneurship" featuring Linda Burzynski, CEO of Liberty Fitness; Ja-Nae Duane, founder of Wild Women Entrepreneurs; and Stephanie Scholz Neurohr, CEO of MotherofSeven.com.
On Friday, March 9, we'll be talking about "Shaping the Future: The Power of Public Policy," at 11 a.m. EST. Our speakers will be Kaye Mitchell, from WIPP; and Frances Jefferson, Regional Director for the Women's Bureau of the U.S. Department of Labor.
