Networking and Soap Bubbles

You have to get out there. I don't know what the weather is like where you live, but it's awful here in Boulder right now. Actually it's better than it was a week ago, but it's winter nonetheless. You have to get out there. I don't know what the weather is like where you live, but it's awful here in Boulder right now. Actually it's better than it was a week ago, but it's winter nonetheless. We've had every snowstorm known to man this year. Still, you have to do the networking. I mean it. You'll get the winter no-networking blues otherwise. Meet some people, put on some lipstick. Seriously. My friend Joyce has a great idea. She is organizing a ladies' gathering at her house. They will get spa treatments and go in Joyce's hottub and network and help each other with their business problems. I can't wait. You need time to dig into the tough issues. And you need trust - it won't happen at a very casual networking gathering. And it's great to have one-on-one lunches - I swear by them - but sometimes a group of people can give you more support than just one. Try it. Invite some of your women in business friends over and tackle the toughest issues each of you is facing in your business. It is hard to ask for help. But what is the downside? Your friends have tough issues they're working on, too. Add some wine to the mix and no one will refuse your invitation. I don't know about the soap bubbles - I understand they wreak havoc on those hot tub engines.
