Through the Region/District Grant Program, UPS annually provides funding at the local level for each of its 11 domestic regions. Funding is often coupled with UPS's Neighbor to Neighbor program, a nationwide volunteer initiative involving more than 35,00 employees. Grants are available in amounts of $10,000, $25,000, $50,000 and $100,000.
Selected grantees this year include:
* Galilean Home Ministries, Liberty, KY--A $100,000 grant will be used toward an activity center for mentally and physically challenged youth.
* School on Wheels, Inc., Malibu, CA--A $100,000 grant will be used to purchase computers and educational materials for use in tutoring homeless children.
* Angel Connection, Inc., Randolf, NJ--A $50,000 grant will be used to expand services to families and individuals living with AIDS.
* Casa de la Amistad, Tepepan Xochimilco, Mexico--A $25,000 grant will be used to provide services for indigent children with cancer.
