A New Jersey group is looking for a few good corporate citizens. As a non-profit organization for nearly seven years, Morristown's Jersey Cares has already found many of them. Its mission is to help businesses help their communities.
Corporations reaching out to do community service projects
Many more corporations have the desire to encourage community service but are not sure where to begin. Others fail to allocate the necessary resources or don't come up with a well-organized plan.
That's where Jersey Cares can help, says Izzo. A successful service project is one that not only helps people but also encourages individuals to volunteer more, she says. The best volunteer events involve the entire company from the CEO on down to the mail room. "When you have buy-in at the top;' she says, "that makes a big difference."
