A Look at Drop Ship Direct

Friday, November 9 2007

Recently someone sent me a reply to an old post regarding Drop Shipping Scams. This person had a long story to tell, which I won't repost here, but she was basically unhappy with Drop Ship Direct and called them a 'scam'.

Drop Ship Direct (DSDI) is a wholesale product supplier and as far as I can tell, a 100% legitimate one. They fall under genuine wholesale suppliers because not just anyone can sign up for DSDI. As mentioned in the post Real Wholesalers, two of the main criteria for judging a true wholesale supplier are (a) their prices and (b) their sign-up procedure.

True wholesale suppliers should not charge a fee for signing up and true wholesale suppliers will have some criteria for sellers to meet before they will sell to them. DSDI asks for a business license and tax id, they will call to discuss your business, and they do not charge a fee to sign up.

DSDI is one of the many suppliers listed in the WorldWide Brands OneSource. WorldWide Brands has some pretty stringent requirements regarding who they will list and they certainly would not list a 'scam' company. In somes ways, DSDI picks up where Maxam Wholesale left off (Maxam was a long time favorite of eBay sellers but recently closed its site for reasons unknown to me). DSDI stocks product in lots of categories that can yield profit such as housewares and outdoor goods. Of course, you'll still need to do your eBay product research to make sure the products are viable candidates for eBay! In any case, DSDI is a 100% genuine source for product and of course, they do the drop shipping for you!

This is quite an informative post! Worldwide brands require a sign up fee and i thought that it's just reasonable since it is hard to compile a list of suppliers.
