Home-Based Businesses are not on Easy Street

Monday, October 3 2005

There seems to be a pervasive notion of a Home-Based Business person who sleeps until noon everyday, gets up to do an hour or so of work, and then goes to the golf course or the beach. Indeed, if you search the term "Home Based Business" in a search engine such as Google, you'll be led to a lot of questionable sites that offer up this sort of vision -- right out of the box!

This has probably been said many times before, but no successful Home-Based Business can be started just by purchasing some solution out of a box. You can purchase tools, products, and services to help you succeed, but the business itself must be built with work. And there is no 30-day recipe for instant success. A successful Home-Based Business must be developed, nurtured, and grown over a period of time, usually many years.

Whether you start your Home-Based Business with a Network Marketing model, a Service model, or a Product Sales model, you'll need to plan to work for the business for a long time before you can expect it to work for you. It is possible to build the business with a long term goal of working less and earning more. But it should be important for anyone planning to start a Home-Based Business to remember this reality: A Home-Based Business is not located on Easy Street.

Frank -- You mean it's not really true? Someone wake me up please.

Actually it would probably be a pretty boring life doing that day after day. It is quite sad that so many people try to hype it up the way they do.

It's people like you and me who can help set the record straight -- right?

Thanks Denise, it's good for people to keep an open mind to opportunity but it's also good for them to keep touch with reality.

I can say, "Amen," to that! I've never worked harder in my life! Of course, at least it's doing something that I love...writing about pearls, making jewelry, taking photos of my pearls and building my own website. I've seen more sunrises since I started my online business than ever before. Hard work, but it's paying off and I love staying home! Kari www.karipearls.com ...
