Aptura Research (Princeton, NJ), a unit of VNU, has released "Focus on Financial Media: 2005 Personal Financial Advisor Edition," a new annual research study that measures the relationship between personal financial advisors and the media in which they interact. The study measures 14 publications,

including such titles as "Financial Advisor," "Registered Rep," "Journal on Financial Planning" and "Investment Advisor," in a range of metrics including readership, average issue ad exposure, relative reader involvement and editorial quality. According to Aptura general manager Kathleen Henderson, "more personal financial advisors use trade publications as a source of job-related information than newspapers, television, web sites or trade shows. Fifty-seven percent cited trade publications as a source they regularly use for information concerning their jobs."
