Environmental: Among five categories of US environmental and technologies sector exports (air pollution control, instrumentation and analysis, renewable energy, solid or hazardous waste, water and wastewater), instrumentation and analysis accounted for the largest share of exports each year

from 2002 to 2004. Exports of instrumentation and analysis environmental technologies grew 13.5% from 2003 to 2004 to $14.2 billion. For the same period, total US exports of environmental technologies products increased 14% to $29.7 billion. Canada was the largest market for US environmental technologies products exports, followed by Mexico, Japan, Germany and China. The fastest growing markets from 2002 to 2004 were China with 125% growth, followed by Germany Japan and Mexico, to which exports grew 38%, 23% and 17%, respectively.
