Milan, Italy 6/28/00-SAES Getters, a manufacturer and distributor of gas purifiers and trace impurities analyzers, has acquired Molecular Analytics LLC for $5.5 million and a contingent earn-out. Molecular Analytics manufacturers trace gas analyzers based on ion mobility spectrometry as well as sampling accessories and integrated analytical monitoring systems. Molecular Analytics's 1999 revenues totaled $2.7 million.
Molecular Analytics acquired this business from Environmental Technologies Group in 1996 (see IBO 8/15/96) and has prospered despite being a small independent niche player. Prospects should be even brighter as part of a larger dynamic firm like SAES Getters.
