Raisio inks deals.

Raisio Chemicals Americas (Raisio), Burlington, Ontario, Canada, has entered definitive agreements with SNF France. The agreements expand cooperation in the production and sale of functional polymers for the paper and board industry in the Americas. As part of the agreement, SNF will acquire

the Raisio Chemical Canada Inc., polymer emulsion plant in Trois Rivieres, Quebec and Raisio's 50% stake in Emerillon, the joint venture between the two companies for the production of acrylamide polymers. Under the new agreement, SNF will continue to produce functional polymers and other specialty chemical requirements from the Trois Rivieres plant for Raisio.

In other news, Raisio Chemicals Americas and Rigar S.A. DE C.V have agreed to form a strategic alliance to supply and service the paper and board industry in Mexico. The alliance will integrate the two companies' sales and service organizations in Mexico. Rigar will be able to offer the full range of Raisio Chemicals' paper and board additives.
