Presidential Impact

I read Michael Evans' "analysis" with great disappointment, and a growing sense of disgust ["Kerry's Negative Impact," Sept., Page 80]. His column typifies the growing jtrend of "experts and analysts" who cannot resist turning 'valuation and discussion into bomb throwing

and insults.

The Evans piece reflects all that has gone wrong with politics in America. We are becoming a nation of angry, partisan, mean-talking people who are no longer interested in hearing the other side, or simply agreeing to disagree. The fatal direction we are heading is being led by the thousands of "experts" like Michael Evans who have abandoned all sense of civility and fairness to inject their bitter attitudes into discussions of national problems. Democracy is slowly dying a death from a thousand cuts. When we can no longer have intelligent, thoughtful discussion on important issues, we will be left with fringe ideology for solutions.

I am a small business owner; I would appreciate more fotus on issues and solutions and much less focus on partisan political diatribes. Just for the record, I am one of the many independents that will decide in the coming months who to vote for. I will decide with my brain, not my bile ducts.
