An Introduction

This issue, devoted to the theme of the millennium, is a collaboration among ReVision's five executive editors. Although the year 2000 does not hold the same meaning for each of us, we believe that a temporal threshold has been crossed into what may be considered the mythic future.

Cycles of Regeneration

All calendrical systems start at an imagined beginning of the world or with the birth of a primary deity. The term millennium was first used in the New Testament book of Revelation as a reference to the one-thousand-year period of
