The Knoxville, Tenn.-based exhibitor, which is being acquired by two buyout firms, saw a 28% jump in quarter revenue to $140.5 million.
"The earnings growth ... resulted primarily from the continued strong showing in the quarter of films that premiered in the Christmas
season," CEO Michael Campbell said.
He cited "Titanic," "As Good as It Gets" and "Good Will Hunting," adding that first-quarter premieres of "The Wedding Singer" and "U.S. Marshals" also helped.
