The granddaughter of legendary oceanographer Jacques Cousteau is set to continue the famous television work of her late grandfather with a new series from leading reality programmer GRB Entertainment.

Multilingual Alexandra Cousteau will host the new series "Undersea

Adventures" in English, Spanish, French and Italian to facilitate the requirements of international buyers at MIPCOM TV in Cannes, where it goes on offer this week.

Navigating the new series, she will explore the Earth's oceans and recall the experiences of a childhood of adventure with her grandfather, according to Gary Benz, GRB's president.

He added, "We signed Alexandra after conducting a global search for the host of our new series. Not surprisingly, she brings a natural essence and worldwide appeal to our shows, which allows her to carry her family's tradition into the next generation."

With "Underseas Adventures," GRB plans to build a program franchise of family entertainment for international distribution.

Alexandra Cousteau said of the show, "My grandfather and father, Phillippe Cousteau, had the fortunate ability to inspire people of the world through their findings and their beliefs, capturing the imagination of millions of people."

GRB has more than 250 hours of programming airing in 120 countries and is a leading supplier to Discovery Communications.
