The syndication arm of radio giant Clear Channel Communications is getting ready to play the Trump card this summer.
Riding the wave of success of his NBC hit show "The Apprentice," real estate mogul Donald Trump will use the Clear Channel network to launch a national
radio show called "Trumped!" starting June 15, the company said Wednesday.
Nationally syndicated by Clear Channel Radio's Premiere Radio Networks, the weekday show will span business and nonbusiness topics, including thoughts on the media and entertainment world as well as politics.
"The public's appetite for Donald Trump's sharp, sage commentary has never been bigger," Clear Channel Radio president and CEO John Hogan said.
Added Trump: "The personal connection Americans have with radio makes it a strong fit for the commentary and advice I'll be sharing. Business, entertainment, politics, the media — watch out, you're all fair game."
During the upcoming second season of "Apprentice," the Donald will share insights each Friday morning as to why he fired a certain candidate the previous night. As many as 40.1 million people watched the final episode of the first season of "Apprentice" on April 15.
"Trumped!" will be broadcast from Trump's offices on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue.
Premiere Radio Networks syndicates more than 70 radio programs and services to more than 5,000 radio affiliates. Its programs, including shows hosted by Rush Limbaugh, Casey Kasem, Carson Daly and Laura Schlessinger, reach more than 180 million listeners each week.
