Bryan Bowles has been named senior vp pay television at Sony Pictures TV.

In his new position, Bowles will oversee the pay TV group, developing strategy for pay TV sales of the company's newly combined Sony and MGM film libraries. He will report to SPT president of

distribution John Weiser and will work with vp pay TV Thanda Belker, who recently moved from Sony Pictures TV International to SPT.

"Bryan and Thanda make a perfect team," Weiser said. "Bryan's experience in business development and understanding of our overall company plan makes him the perfect strategist. Thanda understands our library and will be looking for new opportunities to grow our business."

Bowles joined SPT in 2000 as manager of business development and later rose to vp, leading the department. He most recently worked on the Sony-MGM consolidation.
