Canadian actor and writer Dan Aykroyd hopes to don a Mountie uniform soon and join comedian buddies Mike Myers and John Goodman and director John Landis in the Canadian north to make a comedy called "Law of the Yukon," sources in Cannes said.
Aykroyd, who co-penned
"Ghostbusters" and "The Blues Brothers," wrote the script, which Landis has been helping him develop. Though the film has yet to be financed, Landis, Myers and Goodman are tentatively attached.
The script calls for Aykroyd and Goodman to play screwed-up Royal Canadian Mounties in search of Myers as the villain in the wilds of the Yukon.
Aykroyd is shopping the project around and is in beginning talks with Toronto-based Alliance Atlantis about producing and distributing, Alliance head of theatrical production Seaton McLean said.
The participation of the principals could not be confirmed by their U.S. reps at press time.
