Continuing to ramp up its management division, Catch 23 Entertainment has tapped CAA's Scott Landis to join the company. Landis, who has been a talent agent at CAA for five years, will take his new post as senior vp in the management division, effective next month.
It
is not yet clear which of his CAA clients will enlist him as a manager. Among the talent he represents at CAA are actors Marlon Brando, Jon Voight, Anthony Hopkins, Matthew Broderick, Ellen Burstyn, Billy Crudup, Maria Bello, Harry Connick Jr., Famke Janssen, Val Kilmer, Reba McEntire, Mary Stuart Masterson, Samantha Morton, Matthew Perry, Liv Tyler, Naomi Watts, Rachel Weisz, Jeffrey Wright, helmers Wayne Wang and John Waters and actor/filmmaker Forest Whitaker. Landis also worked with the late Jack Lemmon.
"I've had an amazing 14-year run as an agent and will greatly miss my colleagues at CAA," Landis told The Hollywood Reporter. "However, when Catch 23 approached me, it was an opportunity I couldn't turn down. I look forward to working with all my friends and former colleagues in my new capacity as a manager."
Said CAA partner and managing director Kevin Huvane: "Scott's been a fantastic agent with an impeccable reputation among our clients and colleagues. We know he'll be just as successful in his new career as a manager. All of us at CAA look forward to working with Scott in that capacity."
"We are thrilled to have Scott join us," Catch 23 president Jeremy Barber told The Hollywood Reporter. "He and (division head) John Carrabino will make a terrific team."
"I look forward to having Scott join the department," Carrabino said.
Catch 23 chairman Robert Sturm said, "I am very proud of the team we have assembled here."
Before joining CAA, Landis ran Innovative Artists' New York office for five years. Before that, he was an agent at Susan Smith and Associates, also in New York.
Catch 23 has been on a roll lately with hirings in its upstart management arm. Last week, former Propaganda president Pat Dollard joined the company, along with Propaganda managers David Flynn and Keith Redmon. The past eight months also have seen the arrival of manager-producer Darryl Taja and former Industry Entertainment manager Anne Woodward.
