The search for a host of Fox's new anthology series "Night Visions" is over. Rocker-actor Henry Rollins, who once sang "TV Party," will have a TV party of his own by hosting the show produced by NV Prods. in association with Warner Bros. TV.
Bill Pullman, Bridget Fonda,
Brian Dennehy, Gil Bellows and Cary Elwes are some of the actors who have signed on to guest star in the series, which is in the vein of "The Twilight Zone" (HR 7/28).
The pilot, starring Aidan Quinn, was shot without a host. The idea of having a host was debated for several months, but series creators and executive producers Dan Angel and Billy Brown noted on several occasions that any host would have to be unconventional.
The choice of Rollins is right on the money. The heavily tattooed, muscle-bound ex-Black Flag frontman with the gravel voice is certainly not your conventional show host. But could he become the Rod Serling of a new generation?
Rollins is not new to television. Last year, he co-narrated "VH1 Legends." He is not a rookie before the movie camera, either. He has appeared in several features, including Michael Mann's "Heat," David Lynch's "Lost Highway" and "Jack Frost." When he's not acting or recording, he travels the world doing spoken-word tours and promoting his journal-style books. He also oversees 2.13.61, his publishing house and record company.
Rollins is on tour with the new Rollins Band, composed of the rock trio Mother Superior and himself. Rollins is managed by Tiffany Kanter of Evolution Entertainment.
